Construction phase plans for your project
CDM 2015 says every construction project needs a construction phase plan before work starts. Ours are written for how your job will actually run, by someone who has run sites as principal contractor.

Under CDM 2015 the principal contractor must draw up the plan, or the contractor where there is only one. We write it for you to adopt, review and keep live as the job changes.
CPP questions
Do I need a construction phase plan?
Yes. Under regulation 12 of CDM 2015 every construction project needs a construction phase plan before the construction phase starts, however small. On domestic and single-contractor jobs it can be short, but it still has to reflect the actual job.
Minor or full: which do I need?
Minor works suits a single-phase or small job with one or two trades. Choose full for multi-trade jobs, notifiable projects (over 30 working days with more than 20 workers at once, or over 500 person-days) and anything up to about £2.5m.
What do you need from me?
The project address and description, client and designer details, programme, the trades involved, site layout or drawings, and the main risks you already know about. If anything is missing we ask the same working day.
Who is responsible for the plan?
The principal contractor (or the contractor on a single-contractor project) remains the duty holder. We write it for you to review and adopt, and it should be kept up to date as the work progresses.
